SMS / Text Messaging Terms

Terms and conditions for the BuildUp Cooperative text messaging program (A2P 10DLC).

These SMS Terms govern the BuildUp Cooperative text messaging program. By opting in, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Program identity

Program name: BuildUp Cooperative text alerts

Who sends messages: BuildUp Cooperative, a U.S. 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. Messages may reference People Primaries as our District-registration program name. The legal sender of the messaging program is BuildUp Cooperative.

Who receives messages: Only individuals who actively opted in via our public web form or an approved keyword. We do not buy lists or send unsolicited marketing texts.

2. What messages you may receive

If you opt in, you may receive recurring automated SMS/text messages about:

  • Worker organizing education and updates
  • Event and deadline reminders
  • District registration and People Primaries notices
  • Related public education content

This is a first-party informational program for supporters of our mission. It is not affiliate marketing, not third-party lead generation, and not multi-brand marketing based on shared consent.

3. How to opt in

You may opt in by:

  • Completing the public web form at https://www.buildupcooperative.com/sms-opt-in/ (affirmative checkbox required; not pre-checked), or
  • Texting an approved keyword (for example START, YES, or UNSTOP) to our messaging number when keyword opt-in is enabled.

Consent is not a condition of purchase or of using our websites.

4. Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies. You will typically receive a few messages per month; volume may increase around major events or deadlines.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.

5. Help and opt-out

  • HELP: Reply HELP to any message, or email randell@buildupcooperative.com.
  • STOP: Reply STOP to cancel at any time. You may also email us to opt out. After STOP, you will receive a confirmation and no further program messages unless you opt in again.

6. Privacy and mobile data (required disclosures)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are used only to deliver the program messages you requested and to operate this service (including messaging infrastructure providers such as Twilio and mobile carriers, solely to deliver messages).

7. Eligibility

You represent that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).

8. Changes

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
